Now granted I have not returned to a world where primates are supreme (YET) but I do feel like as Fall approaches I will be stuck in an environment that have mover on and evolved(ha).
For those who don't know-from Jan-up until last week I was thrown into the exhausting totally consuming Student teaching internship. I was at Ypsi high with Griff dog and was pushed to the brink.
The first weeks weren't so bad, I was able to hang out alittle but wow. I eventually did my unit of Orwell's 1984, thankfully since Mrs G desperately wanted me to do Wuthering Heights. Now I didn't want to beat around the bush but fuck Wuthering Heights. Heathcliff and Mary was so obnoxious, and let's be honest after Mary died no one could continue.
Thankfully I kicked and screamed and got to do the unit of my choice. It was tough and a lot of work. One instance involving me calling every used bookstory in the Detroit Metro Area for used books which I gladly paid out of my pocket.

Anyway my unit ended great with a final showcase day, we talked about everything from propaganda, Stalin, war art, doublespeak, and sex as rebellion (which hopefully no one will discuss). It was the hardest and most fulfilling experience I must say.
BUT it has completley rendered me out of touch with everything. Including lj. Sure I followed ontd and still baked furiously but now everyone is twittering and everything.

Also Gen's stalker extrdinaire must have seen me perusing his page because I now look back and see him commenting on my older entries. YOU STAY CLASSY MICHAEL GOODMAN! let go motherfucker, get some help.

So quick highlights:

-I hate blind dating, Why do I agree to letting people set me up.I don't date in general, so what makes me let people set me up.
-I saw Morrissey again in March. This time with better seats. Vinnie, Nadine, and I proceeded to stalk his tour bus in the blistering cold for a few hours only to see him scurry in and not talk to anyone. *Sigh* I just love a man who ignores me.
-Except for taking my CPR cert. I am now officially done, free, and soon to be broke.
- I'm 22 mothertruckers!
-I graduated and got to walk right next to Marisa which was awesome.
-I love my students but feel kind of weird when they are requesting facebook friendships. Eeek help?
-I'm deterimined to be more active this summer! I went running yesterday and I plan to bike and swim tomorrow....we'll see how long this lasts\
-We rented 'The reader' and 'Doubt' last night. Wow Kate Winslet's nipples. My eyes have become more chummy with hers than my own.
-I am really getting into French cooking. I just need to find people to do it for, because I could take on a whole rack of lamb on my own. SAD BUT TRUE.
-I feel really bad for laughing at the Jon minus 9 jokes way back when now that they are becoming a reality.
-I kinda miss info desk now that I can't see the lovely faces of those I worked with on a daily basis.
-Ok Olivia sent me the link for this trailer. Come on now tell me this indie shit dosen't look appealing. ANd Joseph Gordon-levitt! How soon can you get to my bed?

A few weeks ago we got a new summer work schedule that cut my 16 hrs to 11. Supposedly it's for budget cuts and what not because our minumum wage is burning a hole in the University.Now normally I could agree seeing as I know my job is pretty trivial, but it's funny seeing that my competition is just a few feet away collecting dust and lots of fingerprints.Yes, EMU blew lots of money on a brand new pricy grand piano. The worst part is there is also a lame cd it came with and plays horrible music-smooth jazz! EW And while I enjoy the occasional bystander freak out trying to find out how the haunted piano is playing I usually need something to numb my mind off the smooth jazz. That's when I catch up on some tube...on the web

Mad Men
Set in NY in the 1960s the show follows Madison avenue advertising agency. The show has got some major critical acclaim and rightfully so. Every fucking detail from the cigarrettes to the women's fashions is so well done. Every character is sort of deceitful and desperate it's absolutely amazing.Esp Don Draper (Jon hamm) hubba hubba. To me the standout character is Office manager Joan who makes use of her sex appeal and plays into it to her advanatge. She's be a bitch is she wasn't so damn appealing.
                                                   
She's such a hot fiesty red-head I find myself root for her instead of the overly ambitious Peggy.
From the intense close details to the fantastic writing, the characters are so well done that you are puzzled by the idea of the hero being in such a position preying into the emotions of people for consumerism.

Freaks and Geeks
I'm probably the only person that thinks Judd Apatow's films are kinda mediocre (superbad was quite fanastic) and rather  find his fleeting television projects greatly superior. You've heard all the hype so I'll spare the riding of Apatow's dick by just noting the first scene of the pilot, where you see a jock and cheerleader consulting each other in a cheesy traditional WB format making you think this show is going to go there.The camera then  sinks below the bleachers where the burnouts and focal characters are seen slacking.Best highscool drama. Plus Bill was fucking fantastic too. He alone sold it to me.
 
Secret Diary of a call girl

I know what you're thinking but I'll stop you right there! You know when people say get your mind out of the gutter? well this show welcomes your gutter-ridden mind. I love Billie Piper ok. I loved her as Rose on Doctor Who. I love her awkward jaw and chin. And I love her as high class hooker Belle deJour. Hugely popular in the UK (who are much more open to nudity and the terms tits) the show is based off a blog-turned book about an actual London call girl and her shanagans. I couldn't find the blog but I do know there has been alot of chatter about whether she is real or a just some writer's dream. While some claim the show glorifies prostitution, I find it simply portraying another side of that world. The show is really naughty but incredibly fascinating. It definitely comes head on, and dosen't tip toe around anything. Apparently it's good enough for Showtime because season one will air in the fall bitches!

While I tend to abhor the cheesy guest appearances from random celebrities esp on comedies, here on Ricky Gervais's(office UK) new show centers around this idea. Some notable appearances: Kate Winslet, Daniel Radcliffe, David Bowie, Orlando Bloom,Ian Mckellan, and Ben stiller but my fav is Patrick Stewart's:

Life is getting super mundane fast, classes are starting to pick up the pace with work. After Citino's class on Friday I rush over to Ypsi high to observe 3 ninth grade English classes. Thrilling right? The kids are pretty cool, the fourth period though is highly populated with assholes that make me yearn for abortions and crazy ass child labour (industrial revulotion really so bad?). The rest are pretty good. The other day in class one kidremarked about something being retarded to which the teacher goes on her spchiel of political correctness about real 'retarded' people and their feelings to which he rectifies by saying it was stupid not retarded. Then some other kid says 'hey I know some really stupid people, that's offensive!.' :)
